Bedroom Curtain Improvement

When we moved into our place, our bedroom didn't have curtains, just blinds.  At some point Heather put a blanket over the window so that it would be more dark in the room because we needed to sleep while it was light out.  We decided that a blanket on the window looks a little tacky and that we should replace it with curtains.  Heather really liked the look of tabbed curtains, and it sounded easy to do so we bought a rod and some curtains.  The rod was a light color wood, and we realized after we bought it that all of the furniture in our room is dark wood.  Saving the day, I came up with the idea of staining the wood.  The pictures below show the process of staining the wood and installing the curtain rod and curtains.
