Snake Eyes

November 22, 2004

When it rains, it pours.  First, our four-year-old refrigerator goes on the fritz.  It turns out that the defroster heater was broken (about $300 to fix).  When I asked the repair man why my four-year-old refrigerator is broken he tells me that it is a poorly designed part, he doesn't know why they are still using them, and that it isn't covered by my warranty.  If you're wondering, it is a Kenmore brand, GE produced refrigerator.  Then, last Wednesday (Nov. 10th) I was in a motorcycle accident.  I'm fine, it was his fault (another motorcycle), and the jackass doesn't have insurance.  I was passing by him on the right hand side of the carpool lane and he was in the left hand side of the next lane over following a truck too closely.  The truck tapped his brakes, and the motorcyclist went immediately left into the side of me.  Luckily I was wearing my protective gear, and going at a low speed (about 30mph).  My motorcycle required repairs of just under $700.  I'm sorry everyone, but don't expect real nice Christmas presents this year...

In other news, I spent 3.5 days in Chicago last week, and I took pictures.  I was there for work, and that actually worked out well while my motorcycle received repairs.  Also, I have posted new pictures in the Home Improvement gallery, and there is a new poll on the main page.
